The Pipeline and Hazardous
Materials Safety Administration
(PHMSA), an agency of U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT),
is soliciting public comment regarding
the issue of whether PHMSA should
adopt American Society of Mechanical
Engineers’ (ASME) Boiler and
Pressure Vessel Code Section XII
as a replacement to ASME Section
VIII, Division 1 (VIII-1), for new
construction of DOT specification
tanks.
