Palumbo Trucking
adding rail facility

Palumbo Trucking is developing a
railroad siding in Wallingford, Conn.,
that company officials hope will
streamline delivery of fly ash, portland
cement and other dry-bulk materials
to customers in Connecticut and New
York.

Heating oil prices may
set record

Heating oil prices are forecast to
hit their highest mark ever this winter
due to fluctuations in the price of
world crude, industry experts say.
The news is bleak for the seven
million U.S. households that rely on
fuel oil to heat their homes, the great
majority of them in the Northeast.
Figures released in December
by the U.S. Energy Department
predicted that average heating oil
prices would rise to $3.71 a gallon
this winter, up from $3.38 a gallon the
previous year. That means the
Littlejohn Inc., a nationwide
distributor of tank-trailer parts and
hoses, will open a location in Los
Angeles, Calif., in January, company
officials said recently.

“Our large and diverse inventory
is what sets Littlejohn apart from our
competition,” Brewer said.
